[It can't battle, he can go anywhere on his Rapidash including up steep inclines and across large gaps, and he can just get one of his water buddies to do anything pertaining with water for him. Totally useless.
... Though these coincidences are ebbing at his doubt.]
Yes, I'm from Sinnoh. And I suppose the concept's nice, but in practice nowadays balls are much safer. Your Pokémon aren't stolen as easily and they're not killed either.
That's true. [She shifts on her feet, not knowing what to say next... oh.] Um... You're new, right? I haven't seen you around Avalar before, but I guess I have really met everyone either.
So you're pretty new too, then? You're about as helpful as this dragonfly is to me. [Though she did know more than he did anyway. Avalar... is a cool name.]
[Because she wants to be his frieeend. Pokémon Trainers should be friends!]
I have friends who've been here longer. [She might sound a little huffy. Don't insult her so openly... At least, it sounded like an insult.] They've told me a lot...
Did you get scared when you landed in the water too? I've never been a strong swimmer [and she's been afraid of the water for a while, anyway] so I was really panicked... But I had Karpette, and she helped me out before my dragonfly could. And um... You have your Golduck, so you must not be too bad off either.
Of course I wasn't afraid. There's a lake by my home that my best friend and I would swim in [the shallows] so I know how to. I'm only saying for those that can't.
[... Despite saying so, he gives a slightly wary glance at the lake and Donald quacks a laugh. Lucas's first instinct was to let out his Golduck when he saw the water, yes.]
Pallet Town has a sea by it, but I stayed in the shallows while Green swam. [And sometimes he tried pulling and pushing her in but nononono you can drown in there, Green.] Um... It's good that you can though.
Speaking of, are these Red and Green friends you're talking about the ones that're supposedly very strong? Red, being the champion of Kanto and who was said to have taken down Team Rocket by himself, and Green, who is the grandson of the famous Professor Oak?
I don't know about Red - he does say he's from Pallet Town, and that he's been friends with Green the same as me, but we never knew each other until very recently - but Green is the grandson of Professor Oak, yes. He and I got our Pokémon together.
If you didn't know, there's a world that's the direct opposite of our own that keeps it in balance. When this world is out of balance, so is that world, and a creature known as Giratina works to fix it. So it's not improbably that there's more than one world out there with its own mirror and whatnot.
Probably. Here, at least, you seem to be of some use. What are the creatures like here? I'm guessing they're not Pokémon, if this dragonfly is anything to go by.
That's right. Um... The locals here are very nice and usually pretty generous. They want us Outsiders - that's what they call us - to feel as comfortable as possible, since it was their magic's fault that we arrived here... You have to use gems to pay for things like clothing and even food sometimes, but there's jobs that pay pretty well.
[What else...]
Every land has its own kind of inhabitants too, and their cultures vary as much as our world's regions do. Summer Forest, which is the realm we're in now, has a lot of lands you can get to by going through the portals...
Um, a lot of this is in the guidebook we come here with, so if I'm not explaining it well enough then I'm sure you could find an answer or two in it...
It's not just us that has to pay. Everyone else has to, too. [Don't be such a kid.] And it really is easy to gets gems... Um, I know the Monk Turtles at Sunny Beach pay you a lot if you babysit for them since they don't care about money and everything's pretty much free there.

I find experience a more reliable source than secondhand information. Do you know why we're dropped into a lake?

Maybe he should've taken better care of that book. Where did it go...?]
Donald, would you mind looking in the lake for that book I dropped? [Yessir.] Why should we pay for things when it's their fault we were taken here?

Donald, forget about the book. [BUT] Show me the way.
